WHO WE ARE

Center DC is a community made up of an eclectic group of folks practicing and exploring Islam who gather and strive together to get closer to God: one relationship at a time. No matter where you are at in your spiritual journey, you are welcome exactly as you are to join us and grow from your starting point. Find out more about what we believe and the principles we hold as a community.

WHAT WE DO

A key feature of Center DC is that we don’t just do events - we do community! On an annual basis, we host hundreds and hundreds of gatherings in The District for more than 4,000 individuals, mainly from DC, MD and VA. Each event and program is an opportunity for you to learn, reflect, listen, and share with others. Our team works hard to ensure that every program includes an opportunity for you to check-in, discuss what you learn, and pray in community. Be prepared to meet new folks and share some of yourself in our space.

With the help of over 80 folks who work to make our community great, we host almost daily gatherings and programs to build meaningful connections, religious resilience, holistic wellness, and opportunities to give back.

Ramadan is quickly approaching! Center DC and Radiant Roots are thrilled to invite you to join us for our 6th annual journey - or 'Rihla' - to Ramadan program! It’s our third joint weekend retreat, inshaAllah (God-Willing) on the weekend of February 7th-9th, 2025! ⁠ ⁠ We will have a team of wonderful community leaders for a weekend of preparation, reflection and personal growth as we explore what it means to center our connection to Allah (swt) this Ramadan. ⁠ ⁠ Registration is $350 and includes food and lodging (some scholarships are available, email info@centerdc.org for details). ⁠We will also help coordinate carpooling.⁠ ⁠ You can learn more details and register in our bio under events!

The commitment will be Fridays from 11-2pm during religious services, we'll have folks sign up for slots monthly. In honor of olive picking season currently in Palestine, in another popular video Dalal sings دلعونا الزيتون (Dal3ona el zaytoun) This is a folk tune. “Mawwal” is the style in which it is sung, is a traditional form of singing in the Levant which varies from country to country- vowels are emphasized and pronounced for longer.
