How It Works
Our team is divided into two sections - our Core Team and our Leadership Wing. Each plays an integral part in keeping the machine well oil and moving, alhamdulillah! Leadership roles are 12-month commitment, with an option to onboard in June or December. Core Team roles range from seasonal commitments (i.e. Ramadan Crew, Small Group Hosts, etc) to quarterly commitments to 6-12 month commitments, depending on the role. Onboarding for these roles generally happens in December (for the following year’s Q1), March (Q2), June (Q3), and September (Q4). Looking to get involved? There’s an opportunity to catch the next cycle every 3 months! Here’s how it works:
Join The Team Interest Form: Fill this out if you’re interested in getting involved! We’ll follow up with an orientation invitation and next steps.
Orientation: Interested folks will be invited to our Quarterly Orientation sessions. These events take place in-person, usually on the 2nd Saturday of the recruitment month (March, June, September, December).
Team Commitment & Org-Wide Pledge: The next step is filling out this commitment form to state your intention and make the commitment to serve for the next few months. Remember, different roles have different terms, so be sure to take a look at each when making your decision. Depending on your role, you may be filling this out on a quarterly basis to recommit! This form also contains our Center DC pledge. This outlines the ethics of our team and how we expect you to engage in community as someone serving others.
Leadership Commitment: Leadership roles are by appointment or application, depending. Folks who have been tapped for leadership can fill out this special form to formalize their commitment. This form should be filled out annually!

Serving others is a great way to stack your blessings…but it’s also something we are tremendously grateful for. Center DC wouldn’t function without our many dedicated community servants. As our small way of saying ‘thank you,’ we’ve outlined some benefits that come with serving on our team. Perks will vary based on involvement and activities but can include free registration to paid events, free coffee at the coffee bar, mugs, t-shirts, appreciation lunches, etc.
